How the questions, mocks, dates and fees are built
Every page and every tool reads the same two sources: a bank of practice questions and a parameter file of formats, fees and rules read on finra.org and in the NASAA study guides on October 26, 2026. No passing score, fee or waiting period is typed into a page; when a rule changes, the parameter file changes and every page follows.
1. The questions
The bank holds 664 questions. Each one is written by Radif Partners from a topic named in an official outline: the SIE content outline, the Series 7 outline and the Series 6 outline published by FINRA, and the NASAA study guides for the Series 63, Series 65 and Series 66. Each has four options, one right answer, an explanation and the outline point it trains; many also name the rule or statute behind the answer. A question that fits several exams (a bond yield is on the SIE, the Series 7 and the Series 65) is tagged for each of them, under the section where that exam's outline places the topic.
No question was copied from a prep provider, a book, a flash-card site or a real exam, and none is presented as a real exam question. Automated checks run on every build: unique ids and wording, four distinct options, a right answer among them, an explanation of 20 to 90 words, no run of eight words copied from an outline, and right answers spread across positions A to D. Questions whose answer depends on a figure that changes every year (contribution limits, gift limits) are left out or written so that the figure does not matter.
2. How a mock exam is drawn
A mock has the scored length of the real exam and takes from each outline section the number of questions the outline gives it, then shuffles them. The unscored pretest questions of the real exam are left out, since they do not count; the clock is scaled to the scored questions only, which leaves the same time per question. A seed makes every draw reproducible: the first set of each page is drawn when the site is built, and a shared link replays the same questions.
| Exam | Scored questions per section (outline) | Questions in our pool per section |
|---|---|---|
| SIE | 1: 12 · 2: 33 · 3: 23 · 4: 7 | 1: 36 · 2: 75 · 3: 58 · 4: 18 |
| Series 7 | F1: 9 · F2: 11 · F3: 91 · F4: 14 | F1: 28 · F2: 37 · F3: 154 · F4: 33 |
| Series 6 | F1: 12 · F2: 8 · F3: 25 · F4: 5 | F1: 22 · F2: 21 · F3: 51 · F4: 10 |
| Series 63 | 1: 7 · 2: 8 · 3: 15 · 4: 12 · 5: 5 · 6: 3 · 7: 3 · 8: 7 | 1: 11 · 2: 12 · 3: 23 · 4: 25 · 5: 11 · 6: 6 · 7: 5 · 8: 12 |
| Series 65 | 1: 20 · 2: 32 · 3: 39 · 4: 39 | 1: 43 · 2: 64 · 3: 73 · 4: 67 |
| Series 66 | 1: 8 · 2: 17 · 3: 30 · 4: 45 | 1: 19 · 2: 55 · 3: 72 · 4: 109 |
3. How a mock is marked
The Series 63, 65 and 66 are passed on a number of correct answers: 43 of 60, 92 of 130 and 73 of 100. A mock of the same length uses the same figure, so the verdict is exact for that mock. The SIE, the Series 6 and the Series 7 report a scaled score, 70, 70 and 72; FINRA equates the forms of each exam and publishes no conversion from correct answers. Our mock compares your share of correct answers with the same number (for example 53 of 75 on the SIE) and says that it is an approximation. The estimate of a chance to pass is a binomial calculation from your practice rate, labelled as a model.
4. Fees, dates and rules
Fees are those of the FINRA fee adjustment schedule in force from January 1, 2026, cross-checked with each exam page; late-change charges come from Section 4 of Schedule A to the FINRA By-Laws. Retake waiting periods come from FINRA Rule 1210 and, for changes announced but not yet in force, from Regulatory Notice 26-18, shown as coming with its date (January 19, 2027). Continuing education follows Rule 1240. Date calculators count calendar days in UTC so that no time zone can move a day; the business-day counter skips weekends but not public holidays, and says so.
5. Exam math
Bond, option, margin and fund tools use the textbook formulas the outlines expect: current yield, yield to maturity solved exactly and by the classroom approximation, tax-equivalent yield, accrued interest on a 30/360 basis with T+1 settlement (SEC), option breakevens, Regulation T initial margin and the Rule 4210 maintenance level. Each formula has an automated test with a worked example.
6. What the site does not do
- It does not enroll, schedule or score anyone: that is FINRA's and the sponsoring firm's job.
- It does not reproduce the outlines' text, or claim to reproduce the real exams.
- It publishes no pass rate: FINRA and NASAA do not publish current ones, and an unsourced figure would mislead.
